Absentee Ballot Applications

Any registered suburban Cook County voter may apply for an absentee ballot. It is no longer necessary to provide a reason, according to a new Illinois law.

If you are away at school or have someone in your household who cannot get to the polls to vote, an absentee ballot application can be sent to that person just by calling the Wheeling Township Clerk’s Office at (847) 259-7730.

You also can download an application online by going to www.cookcountyclerk.com. Click on "Absentee Voting" on the left side of the page followed by "Early/Absentee Voting". Look for “Download an absentee ballot application” on the right side of the page and choose English, Spanish, or Chinese.

Absentee ballots can be picked up at:

Rolling Meadows Courthouse
2121 Euclid Ave.
Rolling Meadows, IL 60008
Call: (847) 818-2850

  • Room 238
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The last day to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot is five days before the election.

NOTE: Applications must be submitted by mail, certified courier, or in person. Applications cannot be accepted by e-mail or fax.

Once your application is received and your registration verified, you will be sent a ballot to the address you designate on your application. All absentee voting is done on paper ballots. After making your selections and completing the form on the back of the envelope, mail or deliver the ballot to the County Clerk.

Absentee ballots must be postmarked by the day before Election Day and received in the County Clerk's office within 14 days after the election in order to be counted. Absentee ballots are processed and counted at the central office.

Early Voting
Early Voting is another way to vote before Election Day. It must be done in person at a designated Early Voting site. Early Voting for the November 2, 2010, General Election is October 12-October 28, 2010.

I have known Linda Birnbaum for about the past 25 years. She has been active in the community, always with positive effects. I believe her to be trustworthy, smart, and knows how to get things done. Linda will be a person worth voting for.
